Pie!

The ultimate use of pie.

On a related subject, I’m getting more and more desire to make an order with Lime Tree Pantry for some of their pies.

Must… Resist… Temptation…

Charity Work

Yes, it’s “all for charidee, mate!”. Over the weekend I’ve been working more on organising fun stuff like balloon races for the charity I do some work with. I’m getting more involved in the fund-raising side, as well as the publicity and website bits I already do, and it’s pretty interesting.

This is all stuff I’ve not really been involved in before, so it’s fun, and makes for some interesting challenges. I’m thinking that I may even start doing a website (and/or a business sideline) in advice on these things for other people as I’m having the devil’s own job getting relevant information so far.

Still, all fun and games. And I’m sure I’ll write more about the various ideas and challenges as I go on with the process.

Ideal Home

Today, we’re off down to the Ideal Home Show. I’ve never been before, so it should be quite fun.

No idea what to expect – open mind, booted feet, ready for most things.

Reports/Photos later/tomorrow.

Ug

Up at 6am today to be at the office by 7. The joys of a visit down to Fareham, where work’s main servers are located. *sigh*

Surprisingly, I was actually a lot more awake and with-it than I am when I get up at 7 or 7.30 – my body clock’s fucking weird, and shows no signs of sorting itself out anytime soon.

Mind you, it’s now nearly 4pm, and I’m fading badly. This is not the kind of time when I should be bug-hunting through SQL Server code. Particularly when there’s no relevant documentation (shocker) and finding the relevant process is an absolute tosser.

Patrick’s Day

Bejasus, Diamond Geezer’s turned green for the day. And of course Google has changed it’s title image too.

Of course, those links will mean shit-all if you click it anytime after today, so I may edit it later, or include a quick screendump. But I may not. We’ll see.

Upcoming Fun

Over the weekend, I attended a committee meeting for one of the charities I work for, and oh dear lord it looks like we’re going to be busy over the next few months. However, some of it’s definitely going to be fun at the same time as being hectic.

One instance of this is that we’re going to be organising a balloon race for the start of June. I’ve never done one before, but we’re already finding out prices, comparing balloons, and looking at what we’ll need to do in order to make it a success.

For me though, along with all this, there’s one word that just brings a smile to my face in anticipation.

Helium.

And lots of it.

Recipe For Disaster

The perfect recipe (for me anyway) to come into work with an overdose of bad attitude.

  1. Monday
  2. 8am start
  3. MP3 player
  4. copy of Jane’s Addiction’s “Strays” album
  5. Shuffle Play that seems almost empathic
  6. and for the final epic step…

  7. “The Price You Pay” followed by “Hypersonic” as the last things played before you enter the office

Not only does this lead to shitloads of bad attitude, but “Hypersonic” means it’s Bad Attitude With A Smile.™

Be afraid.
