Festerous

To quote a great sage (and friend of mine)..

Merry Christmarse to all the readers of D4D™

Unexpected Gift

I’d just like to say “thanks” to whoever sent me the Mallrats DVD and “Magicians Guild” novel.

Of course, something saying who it was from would’ve been useful…

But anyway, thank you – the book looks interesting, so I’ll give it a go over the next few days.

Finishing Off

Amazingly, I’ve now been working in Cambidge for three months. Today is the last day of my initial contract, and it’s the last day of 2006 that I’ll be working.

Yes, after 1pm today, I’m finished ’til January 2nd.

Of course, because I’m a contractor, it means ten days without pay – which works out (if I just count the ‘working’ days) as costing me about £1000 or so. Still, once I’m back at work, the Festering Season will be over for another year.

And if nothing else, that’s cause for celebration…

Drive

Well, the drive down to Poole actually went really smoothly. Met up with colleague in Cambridge at 9.30, and we were in Poole by midnight.

Of course, we then got lost, and couldn’t find the hotel.

So we actually got in to the hotel at 1am. Knackered.

Another of those things where I can sit back and say “Yeah, I did that, and managed it just fine”.

The training course went well too (well, the first day of it, anyway) and things seem like they’re coming together at last. Then a very pleasant evening in a fantastic little restaurant – a whole seven tables, in what could almost have been the front room of a house – that I’d just come across while wandering (sounds familiar from my Amsterdam trip last year!)

Of course, there’s now the drive back tonight….

300D

Having walked past the local Jeep/Chrysler office every weekday for the past two months, I can categorically state that the Chrysler 300D is one of the most butt-ugly cars I’ve ever seen.

I mean, there’ve been plenty of other ugly cars over the years, but man, that 300D is one seriously ugly bit of tin.

24-Hour

Just while I’m away, and nothing’s happening here (well, except the nascent starts of a redesign which may or may not come to fruition)…

I went to the local 24-hour store last night, and found the owner locking the doors to go home.
“I thought this was a 24-hour store?”
“Not all in one chunk” he replied

Norfolk in Chance

So, we’re now Norfolkians.

Oh dear, oh dear – there’s just no hope for us, is there?
