Not Fitting In
Posted: Sat 6 December, 2008 Filed under: Thoughts 5 Comments »Over the last week, I’ve had to make two confessions in conversations – both music-related.
And I might as well go public with them properly, so here goes…
- I never got into The Smiths.
- I can’t stand Pink Floyd
I don’t know why I never got into The Smiths – maybe it’s missing out on the entire student experience. But there we go.
As for Pink Floyd, their music has just simply never clicked with me. Even listening on Radio 1 this week to “Dark Side of the Moon”, it really just does nothing for me.
Sad but true.
iam like you never got into both there music only song of pink floyds i do like is another brick on the wall
1. Nor me
2. Ditto
I thought I was the only one 🙂
Both overrated.
It’s a good thing not to like The Smiths. As I’ve constantly said, the only good thing about The Smiths was Johnny Marr and his best work was with The The. As for Pink Floyd, I did like “The Wall” and never really listened to the rest of their stuff.
Have you heard the Mitch Benn song about how he never went through a Smiths phase? ‘Tis very good.
