Scary

This week, another part of my general domestication process has started happening.

We went in to a couple of local estate agents, and got ourselves added to their mailing lists. As if this wasn’t scary enough, we’ve also now seen an IFA with regard to what we’ll have to do in order to obtain (sit down before you read this) a mortgage. Yes, yes, it’s happening.

Anyway, it all went quite successfully. The IFA seemed to think that because I’ve actually been a contractor for a long time (i.e. more than six years) I can get away with classing it as a full-time occupation, and thus not prone to the risks that there would be if, for example, this were my first or second contract, and I’d only been doing it briefly.

So – and now we get to the really scary bit – she’s putting in a general application (I think it was an Application or Approval in Principal) to some mortgage companies. We’ll know what they say come the start of the new year.

How fucking scary is that?!?
