Radar Failure

I’m not surprised that there’s a gay man in the office, and nor do I care. Personally, I don’t give a stuff about people’s orientations, or whatever – it’s just not relevant. I either like people or I don’t, and it’s not based on bigoted crap like that.
No, what surprised me was that I hadn’t figured it out ’til now. Normally my radar on these things is pretty well tuned, and usually accurate, but in this one case, it failed me utterly. Which is a surprise.
Funny that, because I had exactly the same experience yesterday. I discovered that one of my colleagues prefers cheese and onion crisps to salt and vinegar.
Not that I have a problem with that. People are entitled to prefer whichever flavour of crisps they like. But I’m surprised that I hadn’t guessed it sooner. I’m normally quite good at telling what type of crisp a person likes, just by looking at them.
Cheese and onion! That weirdo.. the sooner we get rid of his their type the better.
Unless they’re gay cheese and onion lovers. That’s different.
Somehow. I get confused.
Hello.
By ‘radar’ I assume you mean ‘gaydar’. I used to have excellent gaydar, when I worked in a bigger theatre than the one I do now, and when there were lots more (gay, male) dancers around. It was actually harder telling which of them weren’t gay. My gaydar is currently in need of a firmware update though, from 5 years of working on kids shows and serious theatre.
