400 years on

Four hundred years ago today, Guy Fawkes entered the Houses of Parliament with the intention of blowing it up. Some would say he was probably the last person to enter Parliament with honest intent.

If the plot had succeeded, life today would almost certainly be very different. (although on a cynical note it’s worth pointing out that that article was published on the April First)
