E111 EHI card

If you’re resident in the UK, and intend to visit somewhere in the EU, you now need to get an EHI card. The old E111 form expired yesterday, so any future travel needs the new card.
Fortunately, you can apply for it online, which saves a good amount of time/bureaucracy. You do need to know your NHS or NI number for the application, but that’s no great hardship.
Or am I the only person who knows their NI number off by heart?
Spooky – what prompted this? You didn’t read it in the Metro this morning did you? (check my miniblog).
And yes, you are. You big big freak. (although I’m sure mine as 74 in it somewhere… and a D at the end… and I’ve just realised I don’t know where my card is…)
Nah, I know my National INsurance Number off by heart – very sad of me though.
I knew it was being phased out, so I’d kept an eye open – plus this from the Observer.
I know mine off by heart, possibly because it contains both my initial and the year that I received it…made it easier to remember.
Naw, I know mine too. Probably because of endless signing-on, short-term jobs and tax hassle.
Yeah, I know mine. And my old ID number from when I lived in a country that had ID cards, and my Irish Health card number. And my credit card number. And the weight of my first dog. That’s weird.
I sort of know mine, but often get two numbers transposed. I had fun at my last job, when I discovered the number on my payslip was wrong. I rang the tax office, and they had got it right – how is that for super efficiency?
I know my NI number, the long number off the front of my switch card (16 digits), my internet banking log in number (10 digits) and all my previous car registration numbers….. but can I remember the 3 digit security number on the back of my credit card ? Can I fuck !
