Ireland

Well, first thoughts. For the first time ever, I managed to do a trip to Ireland where nothing went wrong. In fact, the biggest “problem” was the flight back, which was delayed for about 90 minutes. (Herself says two hours, but quite honestly I don’t know which is right)

I’ve no idea how many miles we covered in the end, but the basic route was Dublin – Kilkenny – Waterford – Cork – Killarney (and Kenmare) – Limerick – Tipperary – Cashel – Dublin – Powerscourt – Dublin.

768Mb of photos later – a selection of which will be on Flickr sometime tomorrow, I suspect – we had a bloody great time. Some of the B&Bs etc weren’t brilliant, but nor were they bloody awful. One was superb – and included a breakfast that beat me. In fact I’ve probably amassed my year’s quota of meat in the last week. Even more impressively, I didn’t gain even one pound in weight, which left me quite chuffed, considering how much we did eat.

I’m going to do more of a write-up soon, but for now it can be summed up in two words. Bloody brilliant

Glad you enjoyed the emerald isle Lyle. Next time, maybe it’s worth a trip up to the Antrim coast, the source of the polluted genes that infest my DNA, ’tis magnificent countryside…..superb ppl and little of the amusing sectarian bigotry.
