Snowy again

Some schools are closed for the day, a couple of coach firms have said they’re not going to be driving, and the roads are a nightmare.
How did we get to be such an amazingly crap nation when it comes to snow? Every year we get a couple of little flurries, and everything grinds to a halt.
It’s nice to know that other people are wondering the same thing.
Don’t be fooled by the crap they are spouting from Sweden. I can assure you that the trains, underground and buses are stuffed when it snows. I’ve spent ages hanging around on snowy platforms and chucked off trains that refuse to move because of ice on the tracks, frozen switches, too much snow on the tracks. What utter piffle about things running smoothly. It’s panic stations at snow – which surprises me as it’s not exactly unexpected here in the north, is it?
