Recovering Time

It’s been on five days a week, which really has made it quite a timesink, but it’s been fun. I’ve liked the programme in previous seasons – it’s very Australian, which is a very good thing in my book – so it’s been worth the time invested. Up to a point.
As with all TV stuff, I don’t just sit and watch, I’m usually doing other stuff at the same time – including cooking and eating meals that were a lot less technical and inspiring than the stuff on the programme, which I always find somewhat ironic. But all the same, it’s been a lot of time sunk into a TV programme, and while I’ve enjoyed the great majority of it, I’m also somewhat relieved that it’s finished.
When Masterchef UK is on, Mr BW records it and we watch it while we are eating (usually).
I can tell that he’s watched too much because he is now presenting my breakfasts in a chef-y way. It’s hilarious. I must do a post on it soon (need some secretly taken pics first though…).
Need to be careful mind, or he might go on strike…
I don’t mind Masterchef UK, but find it does tend to disappear up itself at regular intervals. I can stop watching the mid-series stuff (and sometimes even the intro heats of “spot the fuckwit”) with ease.
With the Aussie version, they’ve got a great sense of humour – including the judges taking the piss out themselves, and having it taken out of them by contestants, and it’s a really friendly show. Still plenty of fuckwits, but a much nicer feel to it all told.
Is it shown on terrestrial TV? (ie Freeview)
I don’t think so – it’s on Watch, which I think/suspect is Murdoch-only
