Premature Celebration

Tonight – October 26th – I’ve had about four sets of people knocking on the door for Hallowe’en / “Trick or Treat” shenanigans, and I know lots of places are doing Hallowe’en parties. Don’t forget, Hallowe’en isn’t even until Thursday – so we’re not even on the nearest weekend to the poxy thing.
And then we’ve also had the village fireworks display – and that’s still two weeks away!
Get a bucket of cold water. Leave it by the front door.
When someone knocks for ‘trick or treat?’ shout ‘trick!’ and chuck the bucket of water over them.
You’d probably get done for assault though, and that would trump your counter-charge of harassment…
I’m more of a proponent of wiring my door knocker to the mains. (It’s easy to do here, as the metalware for attaching it goes all the way through the door, so there’s points to connect the wires to. Ummm, *in theory*, of course. *cough*)
