Censored
Posted: Mon 26 April, 2010 Filed under: D4D™, Domestic 4 Comments »Some of you may have noticed a post that got done earlier this week and has now disappeared.
I got asked to take it down by one of the people involved, because – basically – they didn’t like what I’d said. So I’ve taken it down.
The opinion I’d expressed was an honest one – it was how I felt, and still do feel. But it got deemed as being pompous and potentially offensive to a couple of particular people.
So it’s been deleted, in the name of family peace and all that.
I can’t say I’m entirely happy about it – if I’m honest, it makes me wonder whether I should just give up writing D4D entirely. Time will tell.
You r quite entiltled to your opinion , and it would have been fine if it was a restaurant critique. But your final paragraph just said yeah had a lovely time but not good enough for me. You r entitled to write about your life freedom of speech and all that crap but I’m also allowed to ask that my personal life isn’t blogged. But if your that put out put the post back and I’ll get hubby to read it.
i read the post in question, and didnt see anything pompous or offensive in it, nor anyway in which the people could be identified. However if someone does take offense then removing the post is probably best.
I’m (or my family) are identified if people who attended read this blog and I know the writer promotes his site to my friends and family, so by default I (or my family) am identified, regardless of actual names being used. I actually take offence at my life being blogged on someone elses website.
Funny enough I’d dispute the “promotes the site” – I don’t promote D4D at all. I believe Herself did at the start, but I don’t go round saying “I’ll put that on D4D” or anything similar.
Equally, if you’d mentioned you took offence at me writing about family events before, I wouldn’t still be doing so.
