Connections
Posted: Wed 3 March, 2010 Filed under: Cynicism, News, People, Thoughts 2 Comments »Two stories in the same day… [UPDATED : OK, as Andy C points out in the comments, they weren’t on the same day, just one linked from the other, and I can’t read…]
Number One : Jon Venables, one of the two who killed James Bulger, is taken back to prison “for breaching the terms of his licence”. People are surprised, one quote being
“He could have been recalled on licence if he committed an offence, it could be that he returned to Merseyside, it could be he might have approached the family. There is no evidence so far that he did any of these things.”
Number Two : Denise Fergus, the mother of James Bulger, tells how she found Robert Thompson, the other one who killed James Bulger, and stood within twenty feet of him, although she couldn’t confront him.
Mrs Fergus said it was now her aim to find Venables and track him down in the same way.
I wonder if there’s a connection? Particularly if the News of the World is in on the act/witchhunt…
That story about Denise Bulger was a full 5 years old. However, if it was me I would try to track those bastards down while I still had air in my lungs.
However, I heard she has got over that phase now and tries to live a normal live with her new husband and three sons although she thinks of James every day.
Her overriding concern is Venables/Thompson returning to Merseyside and if anyone has a right to know how Venables breached his parole conditions, surely she does ?
Do you know what I think ?
I think Venables got recognised, challenged and probably abused or provoked. In or close to a pub. Then I think Venables assaulted someone. You don’t get recalled from licence by missing an appointment.
So now Venables is a 27 year old Scouser in an adult jail for the first time in his life.
A child killer. In an adult jail.
I hope the bastard is quivering in his cell.
And I hope he continues to quiver and look over his shoulder for the rest of his miserable fucking life.
Shit, you’re right, I’d never noticed that about the age of the story.
Bollocks.
