iPhone Replaced

The actual exchange of the iPhone went fine in the end – went in to Norwich to the Carphone Warehouse (where Herself had got the first one) and explained the situation, and we got a replacement phone straight away.

The replacement version has worked out well so far.

It’s been updated to the 3.0.1 OS, and all is still well. I’ve got it all fixed up now with the connection details for our wireless network, Herself’s email account and so on.

The only downside at the moment is the fact that transferring the contacts and phone numbers from Herself’s phone to the iPhone may be a pig – Samsung phones are utter shit when it comes to transferring the phonebook to anything else.

Yeah, I moved from Samsung to iPhone, can’t recall how I did it though, think I used Samsung to Outlook, then Outlook to Mac Address Book, then onto iPhone… clunky!! Samsung contacts software is shit.

We used Zyb to sync contacts. Set Herself up with a Zyb account, got the iPhone app, typed the contacts into Zyb, then synced to iPhone.

Still clunky, but only took an hour or so. Plus it meant I could do a bit of organising, so people’s work/home/mobile numbers were all together etc.

I am definitely a Witch of the Dark Ages. My (contract) mobile bill is between 17p and £1.50 a month. I cannot imagine ever needing to use it more (yes, I am on a legacy tariff). It costs them more to send me the bill every month than I spend.
