Redesign? (Again)
Posted: Tue 28 August, 2007 Filed under: D4D™ 3 Comments »I know I’ve blethered about it a bit before, but I’m beginning to think that D4D™ is about due (Ok, it’s way overdue) for a redesign, and a rethink.
It’s just that I really don’t have any bloody idea what I’m going to do with it.
I think I’m going to move it around a bit, so that the blog part – the bits that’re actually the main content of D4D™ – is at the root of the site, rather than where it is currently, under the /random folder. It’ll be a lot of work along the way, and making sure that everything moves over cleanly.
And then there’s the design itself.
It’s not going to be an overnight change, I’m sure. I need to think about it properly.
Ohh just do it man, stop prevaricating. It’s not like you are busy, is it?? 😉
I can help you here. I have checked my formulae and have determined where D4D measures up against the trinity of fundamental internet website design elements.
For optimum readers response, you need to increase your lolcat content by 43% and rein in your cursing by no more than 5%. Your artistic nudity level is spot on (at 0%). Please don’t change that. Stylistically, the site should aim to be uniquely innovative.
Hmmm.
Got it. In the new design all the content should appear in a cat’s think bubble while all navigation text is in lolcatese (e.g. I iz Home, I has Photoz, B&Q iz Wankurz). The hip kids’ll love it, daddy-o.
That’ll be £500, please.
‘s what I did a couple of years back (move the blog, which is the bit that was getting all the traffic) to the root and actually ditched a lot of other stuff, like the reviews section, that I was being unutterably crap about updating. Now at least in theory I only have one main thing to focus on and update, and obviously that works a treat… 😉
