And not by just a couple of thousand.
While we do have a ridiculous upper limit on our basic mortgage offer, we don’t want to go anywhere near that figure. Partly that’s because it’s based on the fact I’m getting paid stupid amounts as a daily rate, which works out as some fucking extortionate amount per year, which then skews up the max amount on offer.
So yeah, if the property we saw were about £40,000 lower in price, it’d be a definite yes. But as it is, we would be looking at repayments of £1,500 per month, plus council tax and all the normal expenses. Yes, we could manage it, but it’s a fair amount more than we’d like to be paying back in an ideal world (and particularly when you see about interest rates going up again)
The first really great property we saw is beginning to look like it’s a lot of hassle, and I can’t deny that I’m getting cold feet (and some major reservations) about it now.
As it is, well, we’ve got about another ten properties to view between now and Sunday. We’re doing well at the moment, but there’s still a long way to go…
Holy mother of god, £1500 a month! What the feck size is it?
