We got there late, due to the fact that the road we were on was suddenly blocked by a fallen tree, and then the detour route we took also involved a flooded road – which made life interesting, and just a little bit dodgy – but still got there fine. If nothing else were to prove that we want the house etc., yesterday should’ve done it. Bearing in mind that :
- I hired a car to get home in time for the appointment, once the trains were obviously stuffed
- We’d got to the appointment despite the aforementioned
- shit weather
- blocked road
- flood
- Dereham’s unutterably shit one-way system
Anyone sane would’ve given up at B
Anyway, everything went OK. It took two and a half fucking hours, but it all went OK. All bits of paperwork and bureaucracy completed, including paying for some kind of surveyor’s report for the mortgage company. (As you can tell, I really know what I’m on about. *cough*)
So it’s all still going ahead, and I’ve now no idea what the chuff step comes next.
Well, actually I do – we’re meeting an architect next Friday at the property to discuss our plans, and tomorrow we’re taking Herself’s Mother to see it. But bureaucracy-wise, not a clue…
