Driving

Over the last three months (i.e. pretty much since I’d gone through the one year anniversary of passing) I’ve been able to hire cars, and I’ve done so three times.
When I passed – and even before then – I wanted to be able to just sit in any car, and drive it. Just check out where the relevant controls were, sit in it, and drive. I know people who can’t do it, or who will only drive a particular make/model of car, and I don’t want to be like that.
Over the last three months, I’ve had :
- A Peugeot 307
- A Ford Focus (new shape) with less than 100 miles on the clock when I got it
- a Renault Laguna estate
And in honesty, I’ve enjoyed playing in all of them. So far, the Laguna is far and away my favourite, but they’ve all been fun in their way, and learning the various idiosyncracies, systems and controls has been great.
So yes, I’m really quite pleased with myself.
Yeah my parents have a Laguna (not the estate) and it’s LOVELY. I test drove one, and owned the old model version for a while. Nice cars, a little too big for my needs though… maybe…
