Strange

(Sorry, “normal digital cordless phone” – like this. i.e. it cuts the call by pressing the red “call end” button, same as on a mobile phone)
As a (soon-to-be-not-a) developer, all I can say is this: what’s a DECT cordless phone and why should I care?
My Dad is a sound engineer, and every day uses a console that has approximately 2,500 knobs on it, and an additional 1,000 or so switches and buttons.
Can he program the video? No.
Experts in their own field, yeah? Idiots everywhere else. Not that my Dad’s an idiot. Oh no.
I wouldn’t be worried.
Dragon – Standard digital cordless phone, as seen in houses everywhere.
God. Every time. For the last god-knows-how-many-years, my parents (my dad is a sysadmin) always, always, without fail ask “How do I end this call?” whilst their finger hovers over the sole red button with an icon of a handset with a line through it…
Ah. Well why didn’t you say so! In that case, yes, it’s surprising. However, the cordless phone we have at home cuts off the call when you press the green button. Pressing the red button only switches on the speakerphone.
As my friend once said of her husband “Considering he’s on a fast track as a computer expert, I can’t see why he finds the washing machine too technically advanced…”
