MSN
Posted: Wed 10 August, 2005 | Author: Lyle | Filed under: Geeky, Thoughts, Work-related |6 Comments »*shudder* Well, I’ve finally been inducted into the world of MSN Messenger. Up ’til now I’ve never had to use it, and always been able to avoid needing it. Now, though – well, some of the people in work use it, and as they’re in the US, it’s kind of handy I suppose.
But I might just pull out of MSN, and go with something like Trillian where I can use it to handle multiple versions of IM message, instead of having to run the shitefest that is known as MSN…

Get the Mess patch from http://www.mess.be – adds polygamy and allows you to tweak and remove lots of the guff.
Or use Trillian.
Yeah, I went with Trillian. Means I can get rid of MSN after only a day on the PC. Works for me. 🙂
Personally I’d like to get rid of MSN (mainly because half the time it refuses to log in) – so Trillian intrigues me, whatever it is.
I’ve added a link to Trillian into the main part of the post. (And here too – ain’t I nice? ) But basically it’s a bit of kit that lets you log on to Yahoo, MSN, AIM (if you use it) and so on from one program instead of having four running at once.
Cool – i’ll have a look.
I use Miranda (http://www.miranda-im.org/) which is essentially similar to Trillian.
