Memory

It’s just occurred to me, while dong some online shopping that I actually know the number to my Switch (sorry, Maestro) card off by heart. I don’t even need to take the thing out of my wallet when I’m doing online purchases.

Does this mean that a) I need to get out more, b) I really should do less online shopping or c) I’m really rather sad with the things I can remember ?

I know my credit card number by heart [including the 3 digit security code on the signature strip] — I just put it down to having a head for numbers. [As well as the three reasons above…] 😉

I would never ever fill my brain with such junk……..mine is a philosophy of knowing as little as possible but knowing where or how to get unknown info……card numbers stay on the card…..I think i might just about be able to reel off my sort code to the old bank account…but I have had it 14 yrs so it must have accidentally sunk in.

International phone conversation with my bank manager.

“Do you need my account number?”

“Actually, I think I can remember it.”

    “Wow, that’s pretty impressive.”

“Actually, I think it’s rather sad.”
