Observation

In CrapCo I was nowhere near a window – and even if I had been, it wouldn’t really have mattered, because there was fuck all of interest outside. It was just that it was outside. When you work for a company like CrapCo you suddenly realise the power that things outside the company posess. But in the new place I’m right by a window, and I look out over a couple of busy roads.
The opportunities for people-watching are endless. And distracting. All in all, it’s nothing special, and it does give me something to focus on while my brain’s AWOL with things like CSS, redesign, and XHTML going on inside it. But it does lead to a lot of potential for just sitting looking out the window while the brain churns. Which, of course, means I look like I’m doing sod-all.
In the same vein, it does make me think about how odd people are sometimes when they don’t know anyone’s watching them. And seeing people slip on wet pavements and steel pavement fittings is still fantastically comical.
The other side of it is that because I can touch-type pretty well, I can type stuff out while looking out of the window. Which is what I’ve just done while writing this, even though I’m going to delay it’s publish date ’til tomorrow when I’m away…
