Twunty Manager : “Just so you all know, I want you to help me with the office move this weekend. As of Monday we’ll be in the new place.”
Hey, thanks for the advanced warning. Because, like I observed at the end of last week some of us have lives, even if you don’t, you utter tossflap.
The words – Health & Safety – pop into my head. I think it’s against the rules/laws to have you lifting and humphing stuff ya know.
If you tell him to look at your employment terms and conditions, he will find that he has no right to expect you to give up any of your leisure time. A reasonable request should be made well in advance of the event. In Andy speak, he’s fucked, no leg to stand on………tell him to fuck off.
please tell me you are not serious? Especially after being asked like that. What a total twunt!!
Bosses – who’d ‘ave ’em?
Gordon: Health & Safety were mentioned. “Fine, I’ll do all the lifting on my own then!” was the response. Not quite the desired reaction.
Andy: You’re right. The company however seems to think that unpaid overtime is part of the contract. They’re really not keen on the response “Sorry, I can’t, I’ve got a life.”
Razor: He’s totally serious. The way this company “works” *cough* is to demand unpaid overtime at little to no notice. And because Twunty Manager™ is prepared to do it (i.e. no life) and most of the ‘team’ mostly agree to the same, they take it that it’s part of the deal. Not with me it ain’t, and that’s being raised in my personal assessment this/next week.
Anni: Well, I can think of a couple of zoos that might be interested. Strictly a one-off appearance at feeding time for the lions though…
