Biking
Posted: Mon 18 April, 2005 Filed under: Health, News 2 Comments »Maybe it’s just something that’s on my mind today, so I’m noticing it more, but it’s interesting to see that Transport For London has launched a series of TV ads to promote bike usage, and a school in North Yorkshire is encouraging children to cycle to school by giving them a bacon sandwich when they get there. Possibly not the greatest way to encourage weight-loss – but I can see the motivation.
After all, I’d have killed for a bacon sarnie when I got in this morning.
But if people are exercising they need more intake; energy comes first from carbohydrates, then from fat and then – bad – from protein. Fat is good for people who cycle to school.
To a child, a bacon sarnie is nuthin tho, they’ll run around and burn it off.
