Validation

At long flaming last, the XHTML code for d4d™ now validates. It’s taken effing ages to get round to sorting, but it’s now done.

I could do the CSS too – but there’s a couple of things I like in it (such as the rounded corners on borders when viewed in Mozilla/ Firefox) that don’t validate. So bollocks. I could get ultra-picky, but frankly I can’t be arsed. Life’s too short.

I like my new firefox browser, but alt text doesn’t work…. never mind.

*What* rounded corners in Firefox? Where are they supposed to be? All I can see here are sharp, pointy corners.

Simon, the ALT-text does work, although it’s as it should be, rather than the IE hack of making it appear as an on-screen tool-tip. ALT text is supposed to only appear when images are off/disabled, or not loading. If you disable images in Firefox, lo and behold, the alt text appears.

If you do want text to appear as an on-screen it needs to use the TITLE attribute too, so you’d have (for example) <img src=”picture.jpg” alt=”image of people” title=”image of people” /> and you’d be fine.

Caitlin – Hmmm, fair point – where did they go? Need to look at that, don’t I?
